QuoteShield compares the prices on a quote you photograph against published benchmark data, and tells you how they compare. It is a price-comparison guide.
It is not a professional inspection, a valuation, or a guarantee. It does not tell you whether work is necessary, whether it was done properly, or whether a business is honest. It is not legal, financial, medical or veterinary advice.
Prices legitimately vary for many reasons: the specific vehicle or property, the grade of parts, warranty terms, regional costs, business overheads, and the difficulty of the particular job. A quote above the typical range is not evidence of wrongdoing, and we do not present it as such.
Decisions about your money remain yours. Please discuss anything you are unsure about with your provider, and get a second quote if it matters.
We take care with our data and we show you its source, sample size and age so you can judge it. We do not warrant that any benchmark is accurate, complete or current, and coverage is uneven between countries, industries and jobs. Where we do not have enough data, the app says so rather than estimating.
You must be 18 or over. Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Three checks are free. After that you can subscribe monthly or annually, or buy a single report.
Nothing here limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or equivalent consumer protection law where you live.
Use QuoteShield for your own quotes. Do not scrape it, resell its output as a commercial data product, use it to build a competing benchmark, or reverse engineer it.
Do not use our output to make public accusations about a named business. Our reports are about numbers, not about anyone's character, and presenting them as proof of dishonesty is both outside these terms and legally risky for you.
You keep ownership of your quotes. You give us permission to process them to provide the service. If you opt in to contributing to the benchmark, you also give us permission to use the de-identified prices — job, price, region, date — as described in the privacy policy.
Only upload documents you are entitled to upload.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on a report. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or resupply of the service.
You can stop using QuoteShield and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why where we can.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. That does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.
