Snap a quote.
See what it should cost.

Photograph any repair or service quote. QuoteShield reads every line item, checks it against published price data for your area, and hands you a plain-English script to read to the business. Every number shows its source.

46%

of Australian motorists suspected they were overcharged or misquoted on their most recent service. The most common complaint, at 35%, was that labour time seemed inflated.

What you actually get back

Not a score out of ten. A line-by-line reading you can take to the counter.

01

Every line, checked

We group the quote into jobs — because a published benchmark covers a whole job, while a quote splits it across a parts line and a labour line. Each job gets one of four verdicts.

02

The local benchmark, before you sign

Enter the business's postcode and see the typical range for that exact job in that area — with the sample size and the date of the underlying data shown next to it.

03

A script, not an argument

A few plain sentences you can read out. They ask questions; they never make accusations. We also tell you what a good answer sounds like, so an honest explanation ends the conversation instead of escalating it.

The part most apps skip

Other quote-checking apps advertise an accuracy percentage. We don't, and we think you should ask them where that number comes from.

To claim an accuracy rate you need a set of quotes where somebody independently established the right answer, then a published protocol showing how you measured yourself against it. We don't have that. Nobody in this category does. So quoting a figure would be marketing, not measurement.

What we can do is show our working. Every figure in the app carries the source it came from, how many observations sit behind it, and how old it is. When a number is based on thin data we say so, in those words. And when we don't have enough data to judge something, we tell you that rather than guessing.

“We can't assess this” is a real answer in QuoteShield. It appears as often as it needs to. We would much rather leave a line blank than tell you a fair price is a rip-off — that costs you your relationship with a good tradesperson, and costs us your trust.

Questions people actually ask

Does this make my mechanic the enemy?

No, and we would consider that a failure. Most quotes we check come back fair, and the app says so plainly. Plenty of high quotes are high for perfectly ordinary reasons — a dearer part, an awkward job, a warranty. The script we give you asks questions rather than making accusations, and we tell you what a good answer sounds like so that an honest explanation ends the conversation.

What happens to the photo of my quote?

Personal details are blanked out on your phone before anything is sent, and you can see and adjust that before you confirm. The image is deleted within 24 hours of being read. Line items are kept only if you save the report. We name the AI service that reads it and ask your explicit permission first. Full privacy policy.

Why won't you tell me how accurate it is?

Because we can't measure it honestly yet, and a number we can't verify is worse than no number. We show you the source and sample size behind every figure instead, so you can judge the strength of each answer yourself. If we ever run a blind validation against known-good invoices, we will publish the protocol alongside the result.

Which countries does it work in?

The United States, Australia and the United Kingdom at launch. Canada, New Zealand and Ireland follow once we have benchmark coverage we are willing to stand behind — we found no credible primary source for Canadian labour rates, and we would rather wait than ship a market where the app has to say “we can't assess this” on every line.

Do you sell my data?

No. You can optionally contribute the prices from your quote to the benchmark, which helps everyone get better answers. That is off by default, it is a separate explicit choice, and if you turn it on we keep only the job, the price, the region and the date — never the business, never the photo, and nothing that links back to you.
